LANDING PTERANODON #12

🦅 Pteranodon ⭐ Simple (Kids) 🕰️ Triassic 🦅 Flying 🦅

This pteranodon's wings are stretched open as it touches down on a rocky outcrop, one clawed foot still tucked mid-step. Its long, pointed head crest curves back from a friendly, half-open beak. Right behind it, a volcano puffs a thick cloud of smoke above two clustered palm trees, while slimmer palms frame either side of the scene. The rock it lands on is scattered with smaller stones and ferns poking up through the cracks. The linework is thick and rounded, built for small hands: the dino's wings give large, uninterrupted areas to fill in, and so do the smoke cloud and the central rock. Only the ferns and palm fronds call for a steadier hand. This printable coloring page suits beginners well and usually takes about twenty minutes. To make the eruption stand out, keep the volcano and its smoke in warm tones: red, orange, grey; and the rest of the scene in calmer greens and browns. That contrast pulls the eye to the pteranodon at the center. For printing this coloring page, standard A4 paper at 200gsm holds up well against markers; 90gsm is plenty for colored pencils.
