This ichthyosaurus dino leaps out of the water, back arched, one flipper raised high, tail curling below and rippling the surface. Small round spots run along its back, and its big round eye looks up at the sky. Rocks poke through the water, two coconut palms frame the scene on each side, curled fern fronds fill the foreground, and a volcano puffs smoke behind round clouds. The lines stay clean and closed, with large open spaces on the dino's belly and back that are easy for small hands to fill in. The finer parts - the water ripples, the spiral ferns, the volcano's smoke - take more care and suit kids from about age 7 upward. Plan on fifteen to twenty minutes to finish this coloring page without rushing. Color the big flat areas of the body first, then add the small back spots last so they don't get smudged. A fine-tip marker helps the curled fern fronds stand out from the rest. This printable works best on thick A4 paper, at least 120 gsm, so felt-tip colors won't bleed through.
