The pteranodon fills the upper half of the page, wings spread wide with one raised and the other dropped, as if caught mid-turn above the sea. Its head carries a long curved crest, and its slightly open beak reads as a smile. Below, ripple lines mark the water around two small rocky islets, each topped with palm trees and clumps of low plants. A volcano puffs smoke on the horizon, framed by round clouds and a sun. This coloring page mixes broad shapes with fiddly patches: the wings, body and sea fill in fast with flat color, while the palm fronds, the islet rocks and the smoke plume ask for a steadier hand. Plan on a good half hour, and expect it to suit a child already comfortable with a pencil, or a younger one working the small areas with help.
