DIPLODOCUS AT LAKE #43

The diplodocus lowers its long neck almost straight down toward a small pool, where thin concentric ripples spread across the water. Its back is dotted with oval spots and curves into a long tapering tail resting on the ground. Four sturdy legs stand on a pebbly patch of ground, flanked by boulders on both sides. Two coconut palms rise on either side of the scene, with fern fronds filling the foreground. Between the palms, a volcano puffs out a cloud of smoke drawn as stacked rounded shapes. This coloring page mixes big and small areas: the body, tail and volcano cone fill in quickly, while the oval spots on the back, the toothed palm leaflets and the smoke puffs call for a steadier hand.
