The Spinosaurus stands in shallow river water, its tall back sail rising straight up. It tilts its head with an open, smiling mouth and reaches one clawed hand toward a fish leaping out of the water in a splash. More fish swim near its feet among scattered rocks, while ferns and two palm trees frame the scene. In the background, a volcano sends up a cloud of smoke between the leaves. This dino coloring page mixes large and small areas: the spotted, striped body colors in fast with a wide marker, but the sail is covered in fine parallel lines that call for a sharper pencil. The fish, rocks, and splash droplets are smaller and suit a child already comfortable with coloring, from about 6-7 years old, for a session of roughly 30 minutes. Filling in the body and sail before tackling the fish keeps the small shapes from feeling discouraging. The volcano's smoke plume works well shaded in a soft gradient.
