This coloring page shows a Pteranodon in mid-flight, wings spread wide, one raised and the other lowered as if mid-flap. In its open beak it holds a fish it has just caught. Below, a volcano sends up a plume of smoke, surrounded by palm trees, ferns with curled fronds, and rocks sitting in a shallow stretch of water. The linework stays thick and even across the dino's body, leaving large, simple areas to fill on the wings and belly — great for a first attempt. The ferns along the bottom, with their repeating spirals, and the volcano smoke call for more patience and a finer marker tip. Expect roughly 25 to 35 minutes for the whole page, marker in hand. On this particular drawing, giving the two wings different shades sharpens the sense of motion in the flight. The small fish is an easy spot for one bright accent color against the rest.
