The plesiosaur's face is the first thing that stands out: a round eye, a wide open smile with the tongue showing, and small oval spots scattered across its head, neck and back. The animal walks along a beach, its long neck curved to the right, one front flipper raised as if mid-step. Three fish float near its neck, and behind it a volcano releases a thick, rounded cloud of smoke from its crater. Two coconut palms frame the scene, one on each side, and ferns and rounded rocks sit along the ground. The linework is thick and even, with the body, the volcano cone and the smoke cloud left as large, simple areas to fill. The smaller zones are the skin spots, the fish and the fern leaflets.
