The spinosaurus rears up on its hind legs, jaws wide open and tongue showing, as if letting out a roar. Its small clawed arms are raised on either side of its body, and its long tail curls around to the left until it touches the ground. A tall sail lined with fine vertical ribs runs down its back, and oval spots dot its neck, back and legs. Palm trees frame the scene on both sides, a volcano smokes in the background, and ferns, plants and a few rocks fill the foreground, over ground crossed by faint ripples of water. This coloring page mixes large, easy areas, like the belly and the ground, with finer sections that take patience: the ribs of the sail, the oval spots, the carefully drawn teeth and the volcano's smoke. It suits a child who already colors within the lines, roughly ages 6 to 9, for a session of about 30 to 40 minutes. For this dino, filling in the oval spots first in a different shade from the rest of the body makes the pattern stand out before the larger areas are filled around it.
