DETAILED PACHYCEPHALOSAURUS #7
The dino walks on all four sturdy, clawed legs across an oval patch of ground scattered with small pebbles and ferns, its thick tail curved up behind it. Its head is large and rounded, covered in bumpy, knobby plates, with big round eyes and a small smile. The same rounded plates cover its whole back and body. Behind it, a volcano sends up a billowing cloud of smoke, flanked by several palm trees on both sides of the scene. This printable coloring page is drawn with a bold, continuous outline, and each plate on the body forms its own closed, fairly large space that's easy to fill in without going over the lines — a good coloring page for a young child just starting out with crayons or markers. The smoke cloud and the palm fronds need a bit more care, since their shapes are thinner and more layered. Filling in the whole scene, volcano and plants included, takes about fifteen to twenty minutes. To bring out the bumpy texture of the dino's head and back, try alternating two close shades between neighboring plates instead of coloring the whole body one flat tone. Print this coloring page on fairly heavy paper, around 200gsm, in A4 or US letter, so crayon or marker doesn't bleed through to the next sheet.
