A smoking volcano rises between two sets of palm trees in the background, while three ankylosaurs cross the foreground: a large adult walking toward the viewer with a wide smile, a medium-sized one behind it facing the other way, and a tiny baby ankylosaurus standing right between their feet. Rows of rounded bony plates run along each back and tail, and ferns, pebbles and a couple of rocks fill the ground around them. The rounded armor plates are small and packed closely together, so this printable dino scene rewards a steady hand and a sharpened pencil more than the open body shapes, which are large and colored quickly. Older children who already enjoy detailed coloring pages will get the most out of the plates, while younger ones can start with the palm leaves, rocks and volcano smoke. Finishing the whole scene takes a full sitting. Working on one ankylosaurus at a time - plates first, then the flat body - keeps the different rows of bumps from blending into each other.
