The picture brings together six dinosaurs: two large ones standing upright on their hind legs, round smiling heads covered in spots, placed on either side of the scene and facing each other; between them, four smaller dinos with round, spotted bodies move on all fours. A volcano smokes in the background between two hills, framed by a tall palm tree on each side. Rocks sit in the two front corners, with clumps of leaves and ferns scattered across the ground. The outline on this coloring page is thick and even, so the bodies give large, easy-to-fill areas, but every dinosaur carries many small round spots that have to be colored one by one, which takes patience. The palm fronds, drawn leaflet by leaflet, and the volcano add a bit more detail to work around. It suits a beginner who sticks to the big shapes just as well as an older child who wants to finish every spot; plan for about half an hour to cover the whole scene. To keep the six characters looking like one group, pick two or three spot colors and repeat them across all of them instead of improvising each time. The volcano's smoke plume works well in a light grey pencil. For printing, this printable holds up best on A4 paper with a heavier weight (around 160-200 gsm) that takes felt tip without bleeding through.
