MIGRATING DIPLODOCUS #9

A large diplodocus fills most of the page, head turned to the side with a round eye and an open, smiling mouth. Its long neck is dotted with small round marks, and its back carries big oval patches of different sizes running all the way to the tip of the tail. Just behind it, a smaller, shorter-necked diplodocus follows close by, partly hidden behind the bigger body. In the background, a volcano sends up a cloud of smoke, framed by several palm trees, one of them holding coconuts. Two round, textured rocks sit in the foreground among low clusters of leaves. The outlines stay bold and clear around the body, but the many patches on the back call for patience: some are large and quick to fill, others near the neck are small and close together. This coloring page suits kids already comfortable with a crayon thanks to those tighter spots, while the wide belly and legs stay easy for younger ones. Plan on a full sitting to finish both the dino and its smaller companion. Start with the big back patches before moving to the small neck dots, so the detail work doesn't feel tiring.
