This coloring page shows a dino standing upright on its back legs, mouth wide open in a toothy grin, tiny front arms raised with the claws spread as if waving hello. Round spots dot its head, and scalloped stripes run down its back and along the long tail that curls across the ground. Behind the animal a volcano puffs smoke and sends a stream of lava down its slope, flanked by four coconut palm trees. In front, bushy ferns and two rocks sit along a simple ground line. The outlines are thick and even, marking out large, easy sections such as the belly, the volcano cone and the broad palm fronds. Younger children can stay inside these bigger shapes, while the back stripes, head spots and fern leaflets give older hands finer areas to practice on. Filling the whole page carefully takes around thirty to forty minutes. Since the volcano takes up nearly as much space as the dino itself, color it first in warm tones so it stands out against the green palms and ferns before moving on to the animal.
