FLYING PTERANODON #10

This dino, a Pteranodon, soars with both wings stretched fully open, each clawed hand gripping the tip of a wing, its head tilted up beneath a long curved crest and a wide, toothy grin. Below stretch calm waters marked with small ripples, and a little island holds three coconut palms. To the right a volcano puffs a trail of smoke above rolling hills, while spiky foliage and a few smooth rocks sit in the foreground sand. The Pteranodon's body is drawn with round, fairly thick outlines, leaving large open areas across the wings and belly that fill in quickly. The background asks for more care: the rippled water, the fronds of the three palms, and the volcano's smoke are all made of thin, repeated lines that work best with a fine-tipped marker or pencil. This coloring page suits a child who is ready to move past very simple shapes, and with so many separate elements, expect it to take a good half hour to finish.
