The pteranodon fills most of the page, wings spread wide, head turned toward a fish already gripped in its beak. Below, calm water surrounds two small islands, each holding a single palm tree. On the horizon, a volcano releases rounded puffs of smoke. In the foreground, rocks and spiky-leaved plants frame the scene on both sides. This coloring page mixes wide open shapes with finer detail: the wing membranes give large areas that are easy to fill in, while the fish, the textured rocks, and the palm fronds ask for a steadier hand. A beginner can stick to the wings and sky; a more practiced colorist can take on the fish scales and the volcano's smoke. Expect thirty to forty minutes for a full version.
