DETAILED ANKYLOSAURUS #4
The dinosaur stands in three-quarter view, tail trailing low to one side, head turned toward the viewer with a big round eye and a small smile. A row of triangular spikes runs along its back and tail, and its whole body is covered in small oval armor plates packed closely together. A volcano smokes behind it, framed by several palm trees with long jagged fronds; in the foreground, curling ferns and scattered rocks fill the ground. This coloring page mixes large easy shapes - the belly, the legs, the smoke cloud - with finer areas: the dozens of small plates on the back, the palm fronds, the spiral ferns. A younger child can stick to the dino's body and the volcano, while an older one will enjoy picking out each plate, for a session of about thirty to forty minutes. To make the ankylosaurus's armor stand out, give the back plates one shade, the belly skin another, and keep the spikes in a darker third tone. This printable page fits well on A4 or letter paper at 200 gsm, thick enough to stop markers bleeding through.
