Large round eyes and a half-open beak give this young Archaeopteryx an alert, curious expression as it stands upright on two legs, tail curved gently to one side. One folded arm shows long feathers, and the same feathered fringe runs along the top edge of the tail, while small rounded scales cover the neck, body and legs.
