On the ground, two round rocks and clumps of ferns sit beside the legs, while the long tail curls into a loop that almost reaches the palm trees. Large round spots cover the back and belly, and striped bands run along the neck and tail — two separate patterns to fill in, which suits a child who is starting to tell the different zones of a drawing apart. The outline stays thick and the surfaces wide, except around the rocks and ferns, which are finer. Expect a good half hour for this coloring page. To keep track of the stripes from neck to tail, pick two shades that repeat across the drawing, and leave the volcano's smoke white so it stands out.
