The pteranodon fills the whole width of the page, its two wings stretched out to the edges. A curved crest sweeps back from its head, its eye is round and its beak carries a small smile. Clawed feet hang beneath the body. Behind it, a volcano releases a rounded puff of smoke between two palm trees, while curled ferns, leafy stems and smooth rocks line the ground. The body and wings carry tight hatching in short strokes, slower to fill than the wide open wing membranes. The volcano, palm trees and ground plants add surfaces of different sizes. This printable coloring page suits kids from about 7 and takes roughly 25 minutes to complete. Color the two wings in close but different shades first to highlight the pteranodon's wingspan, before tackling the fine hatching.
