The mosasaur's body curls into an S, tail lifted on the left, jaws thrown wide open around a double row of pointed teeth. A round eye and a broad grin give the creature a playful look despite its fangs. Two paddle-shaped flippers rest on the ground in front of calm water, ferns and pebbles, while palm trees, clouds and a smoking volcano line up in the background. Its skin is covered in small oval scales packed close together from snout to tail tip, so filling them in neatly takes patience. The throat, striped with longer bands, colors much faster. The volcano, palms and clouds leave large open shapes that suit younger colorists just fine. This coloring page works equally well as a quick printable for a small child sticking to the background or a longer session, about forty-five minutes, for an older kid who tackles every scale on the dino.
