MICRORAPTOR COLORING PAGE #5
This coloring page shows a young Microraptor with a round face, big eyes and a smile, perched on a rock with its feathered wings spread wide on either side of its body. The feathered tail trails down the stone, and four clawed toes grip the rock. Ferns and broad fronds frame the scene, two palm trees rise on each side, and a volcano puffs smoke in the background. The linework stays round and generous across the body, face and rock, but the wings gather many small, detailed feathers, each carrying its own inner pattern — that's the part that asks for the most patience. The large flat areas of the face and rock suit younger children, while the feathers and foliage are better suited to hands already used to coloring. Plan on a good half hour to finish this printable dino from start to end. Since both wings mirror each other on either side of the body, keep the same palette for each so the figure stays readable, and save the volcano and its smoke for last, in the background. For this coloring page, print on heavier paper around 200 gsm in A4 or letter size so markers won't bleed through.
