A winding stream cuts across the foreground, and a long-necked dino walks beside it, head turned with a wide smile and a large round eye. Oval spots of different sizes cover its neck, back and tail. Four palm trees frame the picture, a volcano puffs smoke between two hills, and ferns, rounded bushes and scattered stones fill the ground near the water. The outline is thick and even, making this coloring page an easy first project for a child coloring alone: the dino's body gives large, simple areas to fill, while the many oval spots, best colored one at a time, ask for a little more patience. Plan for about 30 minutes on the dino alone, closer to an hour with the full background. Coloring the spots before the skin around them keeps them from blending into the background, and pressing harder near the top of the smoke cloud gives it a natural fade. This printable page also works well with a light wash around the stream to suggest water. For printing, choose A4 or letter paper at 200 gsm so markers won't bleed through.
