Round little spots trail across the back and tail of this dino, caught mid-leap with one clawed foot raised and the other planted on the ground. Its head is big and round, eyes wide, mouth curved into a smile, and its thick tail sweeps up behind it. Two palm trees stand on either side, ferns fill the ground on both sides, two rocks sit in the foreground, and a smoking volcano rises between two round clouds in the back. The outline stays bold and the open spaces — head, belly, thighs — are large enough for younger colorists to handle easily. The scattered spots, the layered palm fronds and the textured rocks ask for a steadier hand, so plan on twenty to thirty minutes to finish the page. Since the spots sit right on the body, picking one shade for the dino and a clearly different one for the spots keeps them from blending into the outline.
