HUNTING SEA CREATURES #10
The picture splits along the waterline. Above it, a small island holds two leaning palm trees while two volcanoes smoke in curling puffs in the background. Below the surface, a spotted marine dinosaur with a saw-toothed ridge along its back swims with a grin, a diving mask over its eyes and a snorkel tube sticking up from its head. Seven small fish surround it, some clustered near its open jaws, others further off among rising bubbles, wavy seaweed and rocks resting on the sandy seabed. The outlines stay thick on the dinosaur's body, the volcanoes and the island, leaving large areas that fill in quickly. The real work is in the repeated small shapes: the oval spots down the back, the seven separate fish, the bubbles and the seaweed fronds. Expect around thirty minutes to finish the whole page carefully, less if the background is rushed. Starting with the big shapes first, then giving each fish its own colour, keeps the composition from looking flat once the smaller pieces are filled in. This printable coloring page works well on A4 paper at 200 gsm, thick enough for felt-tip pens without the ink bleeding through.
