GIANT DIPLODOCUS #14
Behind the diplodocus, a volcano sends up a wide plume of smoke under three rounded clouds. The dinosaur stands on all four legs, neck arched and turned so its smiling face looks straight out of the page. Oval spots run along its back and neck, and a thick tail curls along the ground to one side. Two palm trees frame the scene, ferns and leafy plants fill the lower corners, and round rocks are scattered on the ground of this dino scene. The outline is clean and fairly bold, leaving large open areas across the belly, legs and tail that suit a young beginner. The spotted back, the palm fronds and the volcano's smoke plume need a steadier hand. This printable coloring page works well from preschool age and takes about half an hour to finish. Filling in every back spot before moving on keeps the pattern even instead of scattered; save the busier volcano for last, once the hand is steady. To keep the ferns and palm fronds crisp once printed, use A4 paper at 200gsm rather than something thinner.
