DIPLODOCUS AT LAKE #10

This diplodocus lowers its long neck all the way to a lake, its smiling face just touching the water. Its back is covered in large oval spots, resting on four sturdy legs with clearly drawn toes, while the long tail curves behind it to the edge of the page. Palm trees loaded with coconuts frame the scene, a volcano puffs smoke gently among the foliage in the background, and heavy rocks sit beside thick ferns in the foreground. The linework is thick and even, and the areas to fill in are large: the back, belly, rocks and palm fronds color in with just a few strokes. Only the spots on the back and the palm leaves call for a bit more patience. This coloring page suits younger children well, from preschool age, and takes about twenty unhurried minutes to finish. Color the small ripples forming in the water around its mouth in pale blue before filling in the rest of the lake, so they stay visible.
