This coloring page shows a long-necked dinosaur skeleton standing on a round museum base. The neck stacks about ten bony rings up to a head that has kept one round eye and a smile. The rest of the body is pure bone: an arched ribcage, big round ball-joints at the shoulder and hip, clawed bony legs, and a tail that tapers to a point. A scrolled arch frames the scene, a volcano puffs smoke between two hills, leafy palm trees stand on both sides, and a few rocks and spiky ferns sit at the foot of the base. This printable coloring page mixes tight little spaces, the neck rings and rib arches, that call for a fine-tipped pencil, with large easy zones like the arch, the volcano, and the base. Kids can color the background alone and get help with the skeleton; expect about thirty to forty minutes for the whole page, which suits ages 7-8 and up, and older kids who enjoy detail work too. To keep the skeleton readable, color the bones in one pale tone and trace each vertebra's outline carefully, saving bright colors for the background: green for the palms, orange-red for the volcano.
