A grinning ankylosaurus walks along a dirt path between two coconut-laden palm trees, with curled fern fronds unfurling on either side and a scattering of small rocks underfoot. Behind it, a volcano puffs a rounded cloud of smoke above a thicket of tall ferns. Its broad back is covered in rows of oval plates and triangular spikes, a small horn sits on its snout, and its long tail curves upward, studded with round plates, reaching almost to its neck. This coloring page splits neatly into easy and detailed zones: the rounded body, stubby legs and volcanic cloud give plenty of open space for a first attempt, while the back plates, palm fronds and spiral ferns reward a steadier hand. Younger colorists can stick to the dino itself and leave the background for later; anyone working through every plate one by one should expect a session of fifteen to twenty minutes. To make the armor stand out, pick one color for every oval plate and a second for the triangular spikes — the pattern will read clearly across the back.
