This young Ceratosaurus stands at the center of a prehistoric clearing, head turned toward the viewer, mouth open in a wide grin that shows a row of small teeth. A short nose horn and bumpy ridges running along its skull and back set it apart right away. Round spots and curved arcs cover its body, and its long tail curls gently down to the ground. Palm trees rise on both sides, a fern with a coiled frond grows near rounded rocks, and in the background a volcano puffs smoke in round billows. The outline is thick and even, built for large, easy-to-fill areas: the belly, the thighs, the palm trunks. The spots on the skin and the volcano's smoke need extra care to stay inside the lines, but nothing to discourage a child just starting this coloring page. Plan on fifteen to twenty minutes to finish it, longer if every patch on the back gets its own shade.
