A baby pterodactyl with big round eyes stands inside a nest woven from twigs and leaves, on top of a rock. Its membrane wings are spread wide open, its mouth curves into a smile, and small round dots freckle its cheeks and back. A short pointed crest sits on its head. Two palm trees frame the scene, while a volcano puffs smoke in the background under rounded clouds. At the foot of the rock, ferns, grass and round pebbles complete the setting. The linework is even and fairly fine, but each zone stays clearly separated. The wings offer large, easy surfaces to color, while the nest, woven strand by strand, and the palm fronds call for more patience.
