APATOSAURUS COLORING PAGE

🦕 Apatosaurus 🎨 Cartoon 🕰️ late_jurassic 🦕 Herbivore 🦕

An Apatosaurus fills the middle of this scene: neck raised, head turned to the left, mouth open in a smile. Its long tail curls along the ground in the opposite direction. Rows of oval spots run down its neck, back and tail. It stands on pebbled ground, surrounded by piled rocks, ferns in the foreground and leafy palm trees on both sides. Behind it, between the palms, a volcano sends up a thick cloud of smoke. The linework is fine, with plenty of small areas to fill: the dozens of spots on the dino's body, the palm fronds and the swirls of volcano smoke call for a sharp pencil tip and patience. The belly, legs and ground, by contrast, stay large and simple, easy for younger colorists. That mix of big plain shapes and dense detail suits kids around 7 to 10 who can sit still for twenty-five to thirty-five minutes, or an adult after a short, careful session. Color the Apatosaurus body in one base shade first, then go back over the spots in a contrasting color so the silhouette stays readable even mid-way through. Save the finest pencil tips for the palm leaves and the volcano smoke. Print this coloring page as a printable on A4 or letter paper of at least 100gsm — the many small filled areas buckle on thinner sheets under marker ink.
