PTERANODON FLOCK #10
Seven pteranodons glide in formation above a small tropical island, wings stretched wide. Two of them take the foreground with big round eyes and a broad smile, while the smaller ones trail off toward the background, giving the flock a sense of depth. Below them, rounded boulders, ferns and coconut-laden palm trees line the ground. At the center, a volcano puffs out a thick cloud of smoke that rises right between the wings of the group. This dino coloring page brings together a whole colony of pteranodons in mid-flight. The linework is clean and even, with no hatching, leaving large smooth areas to fill: the bellies and wings of the two foreground pteranodons color in quickly, making this printable coloring page a good pick for younger kids. The challenge lies in the number of separate shapes to handle — seven flying animals, detailed foliage and the smoke plume — which calls for consistent color choices from start to finish. Expect a solid sitting to finish the whole scene. To keep the scene readable, give the distant pteranodons a single flat color and save the richer shading for the two foreground figures; the volcano's smoke plume works well in a light-to-dark gray gradient. Print this coloring page at A4 size on paper of at least 200 gsm, so markers won't bleed through.
