Ribs curve from a segmented spine that runs into a long, gently arched tail, while the skull sits at the front with its jaw open and a row of pointed teeth, the eye socket left as a plain hollow circle. The clawed front legs rest on ground scattered with round stones, beside a rock where a brush and a pickaxe have been set down. Two palm trees stand on either side of the skeleton, low ferns fill the gaps near the ground, and a volcano puffs smoke between the palm leaves in the background. The linework stays clean and fairly open: the bones are drawn as wide shapes with plenty of white space, which suits a child working with fat markers or crayons. The tighter spots are the palm fronds and the fern leaves, where a steadier hand helps. The skeleton alone takes about fifteen minutes; the full scene closer to half an hour. Since every bone reads the same way, it helps to color the whole dino skeleton in one or two tones and save brighter colors for the volcano and the plants, so the fossil still stands out. This coloring page prints well on A4 paper at 120 gsm, sturdy enough for markers without bleeding through — a good printable for a dinosaur afternoon.
