The setting is a jungle of coconut palms, a volcano puffing smoke in the distance, scattered rocks, and a winding stream across the ground. The outlines are bold and clean, so the large body and head areas fill in quickly. The many round spots on the frill and back need more patience, as do the palm fronds crowding the background. This coloring page suits a child starting out, sticking to the big flat areas, and an older colorist who wants to detail every spot. Expect thirty minutes to finish the dino scene. To keep the horns and teeth from vanishing under the pattern, color the small spots on the frill first with two or three alternating shades, then fill the body in one flat color.
