This coloring page shows an apatosaurus standing with its head turned toward us and a big smile, its long neck dotted with small oval spots that grow larger across its back. Its four sturdy legs rest among rounded rocks, and its long tail curves down to the ground on the right. Around it, several palm trees of different sizes and feathery ferns fill the scene, while a smoking volcano rises in the background with puffy clouds above the crater. The linework is thick and rounded, made for young children: the dinosaur's body, neck and legs give large open areas that are easy to fill in without going over the lines. The palm fronds and ferns include more small leaflets, which take a bit more care. This printable coloring page takes about half an hour to complete. For this dino, color the oval spots on the neck and back first in a contrasting shade before filling the rest of the body in one solid color — the spotted pattern will stand out better.
